CBHypnotherapy Story Board - A Client Consultation and Treatment
“If you don’t like something change it; if you can’t change it, change the way you think about it.” Mary Engelbreit
1) What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis is a state of profound relaxation. Hypnotherapy is the therapeutic use of hypnosis. Hypnotherapy is all about helping you to relax and become open and engaged to suggestions. During hypnotherapy you remain aware and in complete control of yourself, your surroundings and of me, the therapist. It is completely safe and natural and has no harmful side effects.
2) What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy?
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based talking therapy developed in the 1960’s. It helps you identify what your thoughts, emotions, physical sensations and behaviours are and how these have an effect on your day to day choices and the way you live your life. It can open doors to making changes for the better. It focuses on finding practical solutions within your current life rather than looking back into your past for answers. It is widely used today and has a rich and well researched background with a proven success rate. It is the main treatment choice in both public and private health sectors.
3) What is CBHypnotherapy?
It is the combination of the practical tools used in CBT to identify changes and then consolidating these thoughts into beliefs through the suggestive techniques of hypnotherapy.
4) CBHypnotherapy treatments
The first appointment begins with an assessment. This enables me to find out what your expectations are from the sessions whether you have any physical or mental health concerns I need to be aware of. I will also answer any questions you have and explain what will happened during the session. On a practical note, during the treatment you remain seated in your chair. The first part of the session will focus on CBT. The second part will focus on hypnotherapy. At the end of the treatment there will be a chance for you to give feedback on your experience.
